Damn them for flipping the script and turning all the boneheaded decisions into our fault.

Well anyone get any good drops?

The whole "Rurik leeroys and dies a lot because he saw a golem being brave" is now canon.

I also think it's really cool how they gave people a chance to get items for Thackery's scavenger hunt while not making it too easy to farm quickly. I've had several friends ask me for some of those items, now they won't have to anymore.

Non-canon

If you really want it to be canon, then have fun thinking about the botched time-line shenanigans left by anet's writing.

If it's canon then how do you explain never seeing a golem in pre? You probably splintered the timeline at that point (or the charr did) so why does it even matter? Gwen is alive in your time line and not in danger because the charr / you created a second one with your actions.

Time travel is stupid and overdone and few writers ever manage to do it correctly.

I had no idea about all the scavenger hunt things you could get, is this quest still going or did it end last night?

Yeah, I was totally not joking at all. I was definitely suggesting an April Fool's quest should be used to re-write 7 year old lore.

alternatively, fine, it's non-canon

the problem with time travel is the amount of paradox`s - if you sort of go by terminator films then skynet came about after the discovery of parts of a t800`s skeleton - now thats 1 big paradox .Give anet credit tho - destroying the golem should stop any paradox`s .
One thing tho that got me and i assume g1000 can use that form - one skill can remove spectral agaony and so far on several attempts ive yet to see a mursaat form or jade xxx form.

Boyfriend managed to have Rurik saying something like "I really have been meaning to send a scout to check on the Charr, but I'm sure it can wait another day."

This quest was fantastic. <3 ANet!

All these events happen right after you and Rurik do that mission to beat the charr force, but before the searing happens. We just weren't shown that time period when playing the game. (And heck, there's a whole two years after the searing till we get to play again.)

But besides, it's terminator. Judgement day only happens in T3 because some machines from the future come back and create themselves. Timelines never made sense in that series either...

I liked this mission much more than last year's Annihilator mission. It was far less of a pain and it was simply more fun running around in a big golem. Perhaps the golem skills made a bit more sense than the commando ones although I still needed to read the wiki to realize all of their intended uses. (A net for pulling is just not intuitive)

The side missions were an excellent idea! They gave you a chance to do interesting things while practicing to use the golem. Also they were perfectly timed for me since I was just at the point of the scavenger hunt. This was really helpful.

The story was terrific, the flashback captured a sense of nostalgia that I was amazed to see considering I only played a single GW1 character through the story. Plus all of the Terminator jokes and humorous details were great, I loved exploring Ashford and seeing all of the wonderful reactions of the townsfolk to the golem.

Great job ArenaNet! This was one of the more entertaining MMO experiences I've had in a while. This reassured me that you are continuing to hone your skills, I can wait to see how you wield them in GW2.

I really liked this quest. I only did it with my Necromancer and Mesmer though so I could see them as Familiar Looking Heroes in starter armor. Laughed when I saw my Necro claim he was going to be the 6th god someday - that really fit his personality. Collecting the items for Thackeray's scavenger hunt was fun. I liked all the humorous dialog and the wurms - wow!

Very cool A-net! Ah, that Rurik ...

Yeah one of them says something about it being finished soon, and she storms off claiming they're useless.. ;p wonder what it was about, if anything.
